Natalina da Costa graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP).
Her education at the Porto School of Architecture instilled in her a strong sensitivity to context and environment, as well as a deep awareness of the appropriate scale, materials, and architectural response so that project and site mutually enhance one another.

In 2007, she joined the practice of Lacaton & Vassal, where she embraced a deeply humanistic approach to architecture: projects are conceived from the interior, placing people and everyday uses at the center of the design process.

In 2009, she founded the architectural practice Hérard & da Costa, based in Troyes, France, with Frédéric Hérard.
Since then, her practice has acquired experience in a wide range of public and private commissions, in both rehabilitation and new-build projects.
Rooted in a deep respect for place, context and the everyday uses of space, the practice seeks a sensitive and rigorous approach to architecture, urban planning and heritage. This approach is marked by clarity of design, the honest expression of materials, and an economy of means that enhances both use and sustainability.

In 2016, Natalina da Costa was invited to exhibit her work at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
Her work has been widely published and exhibited, earning recognition through numerous national and international awards, including:

• Eiffel Trophies 2021 and 2023
• UIA Baku International Architecture Awards 2017 and 2023
• ArchiContemporaine Award (Réseau des Maisons de l’Architecture), 2017
• Concreta Under 40 Award, Porto International Construction Fair, 2017

She teaches architectural design studios at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris.
