Raised in the Bregenzerwald, Lara Kaufmann was deeply influenced by the region’s unique architectural environment. After completing her studies in Munich, she gained extensive experience in various architectural firms across Austria and Italy and also worked on-site for a timber construction company. In 2023, she founded the architectural practice "Kaufmann Simoncini Architekten" together with her colleague and friend, Martina Simoncini.

Our philosophy:
Architecture and interior design are our great passions, with a special affinity for timber construction. Working with existing buildings is a key focus for us; we believe in the latent potential of existing structures. Through careful, sensitive intervention, we preserve their identity, make sensible use of resources, and create spaces that bridge history and the future. Our goal is to bring buildings back to life and preserve them long-term as a valuable part of our architectural heritage.
