Wohnen am Eichetwald

On the edge of the Eichetwald forest, a forward-thinking residential complex
has been built that combines sustainable construction with social responsibility. The
complex consists of two buildings—an assisted-living facility and
a rental apartment building—with a total of 42 barrier-free apartments.
Each of the two buildings is divided into three separate structures, which are
connected via a shared stairwell and
corridors. This deliberately small-scale design
gives the entire complex a structured, human-scale appearance
and creates a cozy atmosphere with clear orientation for the
residents.
The buildings were constructed using a modern hybrid timber construction method, featuring a
high-quality wooden façade and a classic gable roof. This
combination of natural aesthetics and contemporary technology represents
sustainable, future-proof living.
All apartments feature well-designed floor plans, bright rooms, and
spacious balconies or terraces.
At the center of the complex, a landscaped plaza connects the two buildings
to one another. Framed by connecting paths, seating areas, and
gathering spots, it creates an open space for socializing, relaxation, and
community. A spacious common room is available for shared
indoor activities.
The complex is heated by a heat pump.
The energy for this is generated by flat-plate collectors installed in the
foundation slab of the entire building.
