Süssmund Kaffee Shop

We were commissioned to design a shop and small café for the Viennese specialty roaster Süssmund Kaffee in the heart of downtown Vienna. Our design combines simple elements with delicate details. Our goal was to create an open, inviting place for coffee lovers that reflects the high quality of the coffee.
The space is clearly structured and divided into two zones.
The bright and inviting front area encourages customers to linger, and a cozy seating niche by the window and bar tables offer opportunities to enjoy coffee on site. A central counter divides the space and serves as the heart of interaction between baristas and guests. The bar area is clearly defined by color and materials.
A reduced color palette of warm wood surfaces, matte gray tones, and accentuated lighting emphasizes the calm atmosphere and directs focus to the product: high-quality coffee.
A floor-to-ceiling shelf on the side wall showcases Süssmund coffee varieties' carefully designed packaging, bringing the product to the forefront. The linear architecture creates a sense of order and precision, in keeping with the roastery's philosophy. Technical components, such as the professional coffee preparation equipment and integrated lighting, have been seamlessly incorporated into the design.
The shop's minimalist yet warm character creates a balance between an urban lifestyle and artisanal quality. The space serves as both a sales area and a meeting place and platform for coffee culture.
