the school centre in neustift is located on a gentle slope opening toward the natural landscape of the ruezbach stream. while denser housing lies uphill, the lower surroundings transition into single-family homes and alpine farmland. to preserve the quality of the landscape, the campus is designed as a low terraced “educational carpet” integrated into the terrain. each learning cluster has access to green outdoor areas. a two-storey entrance building protects the campus from street noise, while the ski training centre and boarding school define the north-west edge.

the design promotes openness, clarity, orientation and bright welcoming spaces. a two-storey central hall forms the heart of the indoor campus, serving as an event space and meeting point for all students. it offers areas for learning, relaxation and play, while ensuring clear circulation. a seating arena connects the entrance, library and sports zone below. both main levels open onto terraces, and internal paths with ramps and stairs link all areas to the boarding school dining hall.
the primary school is located above the entrance level and organised in clusters with classrooms, open learning zones and group rooms. secondary school, ski secondary school and polytechnic school areas are arranged in six further clusters within the terraced structure. each cluster includes classrooms, open learning spaces, group rooms and sanitary units. all learning zones open directly to outdoor spaces and enjoy views of the surrounding mountains. the ski training centre includes administration, kitchen and dining areas, with a four-storey boarding school tower above marking the residential student accommodation.
the landscape concept connects building and nature. green roof terraces, courtyards and paths across the roofs create a campus that is almost entirely usable as outdoor space. each cluster extends into adjacent exterior areas, allowing outdoor teaching and sheltered open-air learning close to the classrooms.
