Munich Aids-Hilfe

Réka Visnyei

Spaces have been designed for Munich Aids-Hilfe that translate solidarity, professionalism and non-discrimination into a clear design philosophy. Solidarity is reflected in a sense of closeness, openness and a genuine spirit of togetherness, whilst professionalism is made tangible through structure, quality and clarity within the space. Non-discrimination manifests itself in resilient, clearly defined structures and a wide range of options for users. Offices, communal spaces, a café and a studio for events and lectures have been redesigned so that they can be flexibly let out whilst ensuring that the values of Aids-Hilfe remain visible and tangible. The result is a place characterised by solidarity, professionalism and non-discrimination, which facilitates encounters and conveys a sense of security.

A place for diversity, encounter and social cohesion
In times of increasing exclusion, we need places for encounter and understanding. The project promotes health, education and social cohesion, supports the integration of people facing barriers to employment into the labour market, and strengthens Munich as a diverse city. We at INPULS are happy to take a stand here and, together with Munich Aids-Hilfe, are setting an example of tolerance and social responsibility.

The values of Aids-Hilfe are expressed across four distinct zones: Activation, Inclusion, Dynamism and Structure.

Red / Activation
The AIDS ribbon symbol is represented by the colour red in the activation modules. These areas highlight different functions and specifically encourage visitors to interact or participate. The term “activation” symbolises an impulse, an invitation to get involved or take action.

Wood and skin tones + pink / dynamism
Dynamic spaces enable users to actively help shape their surroundings and adapt them flexibly to different requirements. Modular furniture allows for a variety of layouts and supports a wide range of functions – open, adaptable and participatory.
