Membrane Vodnany

Claire Braun

The entrance area of a machine manufacturer's production facility was designed using a membrane surface area of approximately 2,200 m². The structure was intended to fulfil several functions: it not only serves as weather protection in the entrance area of the hall, but also as a covered shelter leading to the visitor car park and the gatehouse. Last but not least, the design goal was to create an attractive and exciting counterpoint to the orthogonal hall structure. The lightness and sophistication of the design underlines the technical superiority of the machine manufacturer. Particular challenges of the construction were not to hinder the movement of lorries and to deal with the limited possibilities for anchoring in the ground.
