The Landmark Beach Resort is planned as an urban leisure center at the Landmark Beach, the largest private entertainment beach in Lagos, Nigeria. The project includes 30 guest rooms in 2-story single chalets or 5-bedroom beach houses. Located on a 3800m2 large site along the Atlantic Ocean, the buildings are arranged around a central organically shaped pool, surrounded by landscaped areas.
Arriving visitors can be welcomed at the clubhouse, which features a reception, a small restaurant with a sitting platform overviewing the resort, kitchen, and staff area. All guest chalets have a view towards one of the three pools of the project, accompanied by little cabanas for day guests. The two beach houses close to the beach front include 5 guest rooms each with a living room and kitchen on the ground floor. The beach houses also function together as one unit with a panorama sitting platform connecting the two structures and providing privacy for a private garden with pool and serene sitting areas.
The buildings don’t follow a strict urban grid but are positioned in a free flowing and organic way, offering inspiration to wonder around and explore.
Due to local planning codes the use of concrete or other permanent building materials such as concrete blocks are not permitted along the Landmark Beach. Therefore, the project is designed with shipping containers and light weight steel structures. Overhanging roofs and sun shading elements ensure reduced solar radiation into the spaces. All furniture elements have been designed specifically for the project and have been produced locally.
The construction has been recently completed and the resort is waiting to be fully commissioned.
