HTBLA Zeltweg

Iris Rampula-Farrag (Balloon Architekten)

The HTBLA and BAFEP Zeltweg, an existing building from the 1980s, was completely renovated and restructured internally into a departmental system.
The design combines the requirements of a modern, future-proof school building with an economical budget. The central concept is the networking of clearly structured functional areas—departments, learning zones, and common areas—into a flexible, open spatial structure that promotes learning, communication, and orientation in equal measure. Transparency and the removal of partition walls create flowing spaces that harmoniously combine quiet and active zones. The furnishings support diverse forms of learning and social interaction and create both retreats and open meeting spaces. Natural materials, warm colors, and high-quality surfaces give the building an appreciative atmosphere that promotes sustainable use and respectful treatment of the environment.
