In 2012 our project achieved second place in a highly-charged competition, ex aequo with Martin Oberascher & Partner Architekten ZT GmbH. [MOA]. After many joint planning workshops and phases of thought, appointments and meetings, we finally managed to enter the implementation phase in 2016. The construction site 01 was completed in spring 2018.

The new residential area of Ignaz-Harrer-Straße - Gailenbachweg - Lehenerstraße was developed in between the urban areas of the busy Ignaz-Harrer-Straße in the north and the open park area in the south. The construction site was designed as a continuously closed arrangement and responds to the requirements resulting from the existing noise emissions along the Ignaz-Harrer-Straße and to the existing property conditions.

From an urban spatial perspective, the formation of a closed, urban edge along the Ignaz-Harrer-Straße contrasts with the calmed park landscape to in the southern area of the development site with its relaxing atmosphere, and creates a spatial differentiation in terms of a 'movement side' in the north and into a 'housing, park and garden side' in the south. By means of the meandering arrangement of the development, the “movement side” and “garden side” are associated with each other. Carefully located passages ensure the permeability of the district. Along with Ignaz-Harrer-Straße, a sequence of different sized spaces is created which enables diverse uses and creates an urban run-up to the residential area.

Architecturally, the formation of the closed Laubengangfassade façade along the Ignaz Harrer-Straße contrasts with the character of the residential areas directed towards the park, which is characterized by square and round balconies.
