The highschool is composed out of many different buildings, ranging from the beginning of the 20th century up to its 70ies. The commission was to revitalize three parts of the whole, the most western buildings, ranging from the 50ies and 70ies, including the main entrance, in regard to buildingtechnology and insulation.

idea

exceeding the program, our planning aimed to archieve a holistic architectonical concept, putting the same weight upon all the parts, from architecture to interior, from exterior to gardening and to graphics. Moreover also art should integrate and become one part of the whole.

realization

updating of the organigram of spaces
new and bigger openings to bring a plenty of daylight into all spaces
visually breaking the type of "corridor-school"
clear definiton of building-parts an building-rhythmics
types of materials according to use of building parts and their age
selection of materials which are able to become old in a decent manner
material-tonality respecting the park
big painting-panels for the pupils and monochrome panels instead of other wall-prevention
firestop-doors as "zippers", quoting the didattical content of the school
destruction of the old gardenhause, new light construction for cycles and gardening-objects
selection of plants in regard to flowering-continuity during schooltime

result

from the new entrance until the end of the intervention the school presents itself as lighty, modern building, worth living in.
