The lake Aichwald, framed by meadows, surrounded by reed, is one of the few Carinthian lakes still very natural and not pressured by buildings too nearly set. Our aim was to utmost keep the naturality. so the new bath-house is placed at the southern margin of the area, levitating above ground. By doing so it could function as an entrance building and leave the small dimensioned sloping green untouched, so that it could be preserved for the bathing persons. The pile construction als a lying volume retraces the horizontality of the water surface. Widely cantilevering roofs provide shelter, boardwalks and sitting stairs stimulate vivid use.
The new bathing facility sees itself in the tradition of buildings in or at the lakeside of Carinthian lakes: it consists almost entirely out of massive wood.

The center of the building is the reception area. Unexpectedly for the walking by persons it offers a framed picture detail of the lake. at the same time the lenghth of the construction is broken. For the bathing persons the entrance zone as a threshold thematizes the transition. The porticus as a space is living zone. To the left hand side, which means west, adjacent to this vestibule, you find the buffet with cashier and a disposal room, further west, surrounded by sheltered wooden walkways and offering overall view, you find the guestroom. Directly connected to the entrance/exit you find to the right hand side the emergency room and further east the sanitaries.
